Where Do Splash Guards Go in a Car?
Splash guards are often mounted on a car's wheel wells, especially at the back and front. The primary purpose is to minimize the spray of water, dirt, gravel, and debris produced by rotating tires. Here's where they are commonly positioned on a car:
Front Splash Guards
Front splash guards are normally fitted behind the front tires in the wheel wells. When the front tires rotate, they help reduce the amount of road debris, water, and mud that gets flung onto the car's body, lower side panels, and other vehicles.
Rear Splash Guards
The rear splash variants are installed in the wheel wells behind the rear tires. They function similarly to the front ones in that they prevent road debris, water, and mud from being thrown onto the back of the vehicle, keeping the back of the vehicle cleaner.
